  5. While in the building students/players and staff should try to maintain a 6 ft distance from each other.
  6. Other considerations:
    • High risk persons should not be in the building.  This includes but is not limited to being 60+ years old, living with someone who is 60+ years old, or has a weakened immune system.
    • Students/Players and staff who are immunocompromised or taking medication making them immunocompromised should not be in the building, unless okay by their doctor.
    • Students/Players and staff with high risk family members should take precautions to social distance, wash hands, and wear a mask while in the building.  They should consider the risks of being in the building.
    • Students/Players and staff who are living with someone who is Covid-19 positive or is experiencing symptoms should contact the Baca County Health Department before leaving their house.

Conducting temperature screenings:

The most protective methods incorporate social distancing (maintaining a distance of 6 feet from others) or physical barriers to eliminate or minimize exposures due to close contact to a child who has symptoms during screening.

Temperature screening

  • Make a visual inspection of the child for signs of illness, which could include flushed cheeks, rapid breathing or difficulty breathing (without recent physical activity), fatigue, or extreme fussiness.
  • Conduct temperature screening (follow steps below)
    • Perform hand hygiene
    • Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • There will be use of non-contact (temporal) thermometers and you did not have physical contact with the child.
  • If you use non-contact thermometers, clean them with an alcohol wipe (or isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab) between each client. You can reuse the same wipe as long as it remains wet.

SPORTS ACTIVITY PROCEDURES:

  • Coaches and participants should report to sessions dressed to participate.
  • Sanitation is a high priority. Weight and all equipment should be sanitized prior to and after each use.
  • The number of participants per gym should follow current recommendations from the state on size of gatherings.  This will be fluid, and will change with state and federal restrictions on group sizes.
  • Minimize shared equipment as much possible. including but not limited to (balls, bats, clubs, rackets, sleds, helmets, masks, etc).
  • Each participant in the sessions should have their own personal water bottles for hydration. Water fountains and shared water sources should not be allowed.
  • Spectators (parents, media, etc) or non-essential individuals should not be allowed to attend or observe sessions.

-If an individual displays one or more symptoms, they will be immediately sent home, and parents will be asked to stay at the curbside to wait for the verification of student’s admittance into the building.

-If an employee or student/player develops symptoms while they are in the building, they will be asked to leave immediately and their area will be cleaned according to CDC protocol.
