Vilas Families, we are happy to report that our HVAC system is now fully operational and maintaining consistent temperatures throughout the school building. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked diligently with our contractor and service company to resolve the issues. With the system functioning as intended, classrooms are now able to maintain a comfortable and reliable learning environment for our students. Come out and help Vilas Student Council. They will be hosting a Mexican Food Dinner fundraiser on February 16th at the Walsh Senior Citizen Building from 12pm - 2pm Tacos, Enchiladas, Vermicelli, Beans, Dessert, and Drink. We hope to see you there!

We are excited to announce that Homecoming 2025 is right around the corner, taking place from February 3rd to February 8th! We invite everyone to join in the spirit of the week by dressing up each day to show our school pride. Throughout the week, we will have a variety of fun activities leading up to a Pep Rally before the Homecoming game on Saturday. The exact time for the Pep Rally will be announced soon, so stay tuned! The games will kick off at 3 PM on Saturday, February 8th, and we encourage all to come out and support our teams. Following the game, we will hold our Homecoming ceremony, and we are thrilled to invite everyone to a dance at the community building in Vilas. Elementary students are welcome to attend the dance for one hour, but please remember that they must be accompanied by an adult.

Dear Families, I hope you are staying warm and safe during this winter wonderland. As your students may have shared, we’ve experienced some disruptions recently due to ongoing HVAC issues. We are saddened that our brand-new HVAC system is not maintaining consistent temperatures throughout the school building. As soon as the issue began, we immediately started working with our contractor and service company to resolve it. While improvements have been made, the extremely low temperatures have posed additional challenges for the system to keep up. We are committed to ensuring all classrooms maintain an adequate learning temperature of 65 degrees or higher. To accommodate this, some classes may temporarily be held in alternative locations such as the Innovation Center, cafeteria, or gym concessions room. As always, please ensure your students come to school dressed in weather-appropriate clothing, as they walk outside between buildings daily. Our top priority remains creating a warm and safe environment where our students can continue learning effectively. During the event, they gained valuable insights into current educational topics being discussed in the legislative session and learned about the upcoming state budget focuses. Vilas School District is on a 2 hour delay for Tuesday, January 21st, due to the weather. School will start at 10am. Busses will run. No breakfast will be served.
